Major Non-Food and Industrial Crops Quarterly Bulletin, July-September 2017

July 2017 to September 2017

Rubber (cuplump)

  • For the period July-September 2017, the production of rubber grew by 15.1 percent, from 91.82 thousand metric tons in same quarter of 2016 to 105.69 thousand metric tons this year. The growth in production resulted from:
    • increase in number of tappable trees due to sufficient rains and more tapping activities due to high price in SOCCSKSARGEN (North Cotabato); and
    • increase in tapping activities due to high price in ARMM (Basilan).
  • The top-producing region during the period is SOCCSKSARGEN, with its production of 39.21 thousand metric tons accounting for 37.1 percent of the total rubber production of the country. Zamboanga Peninsula came in close with 36.0 percent contribution while ARMM had 16.1 percent share to the national production.
